Lessons
We have been awarded our riding school licence by West Suffolk Council and received a 5* rating.
We have a range of horses and ponies at Anchor stables that provide riders of all ages excellent partners for private lessons or group lessons.
All of our horses are selected for their impeccable temperaments and adaptability to different riders, so whatever level of rider you are, beginner, novice or returning we have a horse that will help you progress and refine your riding skills.
Lessons take place in our own outdoor school, it is open and exposed to the elements and we do ride in all weathers (because the horses need daily exercise) so do come prepared with adequate clothing – even for rain & snow!

What lessons do you offer?
We can cater lessons for all capabilities and interests. We can offer a variety of different lessons such as:
- Beginners riding lessons
- Children’s riding lessons
- Adults riding lessons
Riding School License
All riding establishments, by law, must be licensed to operate their business and the Riding Establishments Act 1964 1970. The license is granted by our local authority so that we can offer riding lessons.
In addition to the council license, the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) conducts its own approval scheme, setting a high standard for the care of horses and requiring confidence that the instruction given is correct and that they reach the high standards of care and attention to both horse and rider required to meet the membership requirements.
As part of this we agree to abide by the ABRS code of conduct.
